first glance

Steamline is a compact steaming and ironing station designed with shrinking living spaces in mind.

The ironing board utilises three configurations centered around the main barrel hinge to give users more function in a compact form.

safety first

Keeping in Steamline's intended setting in mind, creating a safer solution is integral to the longevity of the design.

Integrating a heat resistant dock into the design kept the hot surface protected in between use and while cooling.

When docked the steamer iron functions as a handle mobilising Steamline from storage to work.

user experience

Steamline offers full workflow support with the larger integrated water tank users can iron and steam more without needing to refill.

Connected by a retractable cable Steamline works with users supporting large reach jobs or quick steams without tangles or unplugging the iron.

in context

Steamline covers a wide range of use cases from quick steams to large ironing sessions. This is further supported with the use of the hanger bars used to hang clothes during use and after.

stability

Both visually and functionally Steamline is stable in all environments with a quiet resolved form and integrated support bars.

Steamline fits the space provided without complaint.

Considering it's likely use case next to washers and dryers we wanted to keep the same clean yet functional look.
